Description
Continental Grand Prix 5000 Tire – 700x23 Clincher, Folding, Black
The Continental GP5000 is one of the best all-around road bike tires ever made. It’s a high-performance clincher that delivers low rolling resistance, excellent puncture protection, great cornering grip, and superior ride comfort.
Key Technologies:
- BlackChili Compound — Legendary tread rubber that balances speed, grip, and durability better than almost anything else.
- Vectran Breaker — High-tech puncture protection (stronger and lighter than Kevlar/Aramid) that doesn’t kill rolling speed.
- LazerGrip — Laser-cut micro-tread on the shoulders for outstanding cornering precision.
- Active Comfort Technology (ACT) — Absorbs road vibrations for a smoother, more comfortable ride.
- 330 TPI casing — Supple, fast, and responsive (3-ply construction).
Specs (700x23):
- Size: 700x23c (ETRTO 23-622)
- Type: Clincher, Folding bead
- Weight: ~200–205g (very light for this level of protection)
- Max Pressure: 120 PSI (recommended ~95–110 PSI)
- Color: All Black
This 23mm version is popular for race bikes, time trials, or riders who prefer a nimble, low-profile setup on smooth roads. Many cyclists consider the GP5000 the benchmark tire for everyday training and racing.
